Description

Meet the imposing giant of the Poecilotheria genus! The Fringed Ornamental (Poecilotheria ornata) is an awe-inspiring Old World arboreal tarantula, celebrated as one of the largest in the hobby, frequently achieving a breathtaking Giant size (up to $9$ inches DLS). This species features complex, high-contrast black and white patterns, making it a spectacular display animal. However, P. ornata is exceptionally fast and defensive, possessing medically significant venom and exhibiting an aggressive temperament. Due to its size, speed, and potent venom, this striking tarantula is strictly for the Advanced keeper who has prior, solid experience managing highly reactive Old World species.
