Description
A dazzling arboreal gem with iridescent allure! The Amazon Sapphire Pinktoe (Ybyrapora diversipes) is a stunning New World arboreal species native to the humid rainforests and former cocoa plantations of Bahia, Brazil, celebrated for its vivid sapphire-blue metallic highlights on the legs and carapace, contrasting pink toes, and elegant build with orange accents on mature specimens. Active web-builders, they construct elaborate silken tube retreats and leaf nests in vegetation, making them highly visible and interactive display animals when settled. Fast-moving and skittish, they prefer to retreat or bolt rather than defend aggressively, though some may launch projectile faeces as a unique defence; temperament is generally calm with a strong feeding response once acclimated. Best suited for intermediate keepers experienced with high-humidity arboreal setups, excellent cross-ventilation, and handling quick, flighty species.
