Description

A velvety black beauty that’s perfect for display! The Mexican Black Velvet (Tliltocatl schroederi) is a striking New World terrestrial species from Mexico, prized for its deep, glossy jet-black colouration with subtle highlights. Hardy and slow-growing, it often uses a hide or shallow burrow but frequently remains visible as an adult, making it an excellent display tarantula. This species is known for its calm, docile temperament, though it may flick urticating hairs or flee if disturbed. With mild venom and a relaxed demeanour, it’s a fantastic choice for beginner to intermediate keepers seeking a long-lived, low-maintenance classic pet.
